At OmniComs we understand the need for precise dedicated communication, be it an outdoor event over vast terrain or localised within a stadium, or public open space. On top of this, we provide a tracking service allowing you to keep track of your event assets as well as athletes.

Our event communication platform is set up around the specific requirements of the event and terrain layout.

Apart from providing the communications and tracking platforms, we also offer onsite event services where we assist with the setup and management of the VOC (Venue Operations Centre), onsite support and technical assistance from managing the distributions and return of radios and trackers to charging facilities. Should a radio get damaged or lost a replacement option is available from the support team.

Rentals

We rent out radio infrastructure to events and organisations requiring a line of site communications between various team members, be it sports team management, school camp facilitation, or event venue management. These are provided on either a short-term or long-term rental option depending on the client’s requirements.

Our fixed mobile units can also be installed on vehicles travelling in convoys on an overland trip.

Push-to-talk Over Cellular (POC)

As the name suggests, POC radios combine the look and feel with that of a conventional Two-Way Radio. Instead of making use of VHF or UHF frequencies and repeaters which comes with the need for ICASA licensing, maintenance and upkeep, it makes use of the existing Cellular (3G and 4G) as well as WiFi networks to connect. This enables the radios to have a vast reach; from local to national to international (within reason).

With the need for a more diverse and integrated communication system, which is seamless and improves productivity and efficiency, many organisations are adopting the Push-to-talk Over Cellular (POC) radio system.

Unlike Private Mobile Radio networks where channel capacity is finite, POC platforms allow any number of virtual channels and as many call groups as you want to be created, including the ability to create dynamic call groups.

Dispatcher services can be enabled, including real-time GPS location, tracking and monitoring services, along with other PMR-type services such as late entry to group calls and remote stun or kill of devices.

Our units all operate on the Vodacom Network and are registered on a restricted APN which means the units will operate when normal cellular devices can’t due to the towers being flooded.

While our main brand is Hytera, we offer a range of ICOM, Kenwood, Motorola and Kirisun. Products which include conventional Land Mobile Radios, Aviation and Marine Radios as well as their accessories.

We also provide custom charge/carry cases for Portable Radios as well as custom installations of base stations in vehicles, control rooms, offices and trailers.
